A Middlesex Gold Seal of Approval Club
The Middlesex County RFU introduced the County Seal of Approval accreditation programme as a method of examining, maintaining and improving the provision of rugby in the mini/youth section of a rugby club.
Building upon current good practice, the accreditation aims to recognise the effort and achievement of those clubs that reach, maintain and improve on the required standard of a club that the seal sets. There are three levels of attainment, Bronze, Silver and Gold. The idea of the seal of approval award is to reward clubs who comply with the operating standards set by the County RFU in:
- The playing programme
- Duty of care and child protection
- Sports equity and ethics
- Club management
to ensure that the safe, effective, child-friendly club standards are met. This should help parents/carers when choosing a club for their children.
When Middlesex RFU started this scheme London Welsh RFC were the first club in Middlesex to be awarded the Gold Standard. Every three years clubs are reassessed and London Welsh RFC has maintained its Gold Standard award.
