Staines Festival 2010
Astonishingly for those of us who have previously only experienced Staines in blizzard and typhoon, this year's festival on 18th April was held in glorious sunshine. Befitting a club which likes to play in the Welsh way, having the sun on our collective backs resulted in some of the most entertaining running rugby of the season, eliciting many positive and admiring comments from opposition coaches and spectators. Strong performances across the board saw London Welsh reach the final in each age group, eventually winning three out of five.
The successful day was a fitting tribute to outgoing Chairman, Mike Talbot, whose smile was as broad as the waistband of his shorts. Many thanks, Mike - these results are for you:

Middlesex Festival 2010
This year's Middlsex Festivals were held over three weekends in March at Ealing RFC and Wasps. Three County Awards are made to Clubs recognising the cumulative performance across all the festivals. In the main Championship Shield competition Teddington denied Rosslyn Park a clean sweep, though Parks strength across all ages has won the Barry Boyden Trophy for the second year in a row.
The Derek Mann Shield was a very different affair though, recognising broader performance across all abilities and this went right up the wire with Bank of England, Wasps, Saracens all in contention right up to the final games. Ultimately though London Welsh won, though Bank of England pushed them all the way.
